The Arturo Sandoval Institute (ASI) is dedicated to empowering young musicians by providing Access, Support, and Inspiration through a variety of dynamic programs. From instrument donation drives and need-based scholarships, to world-class masterclasses, mentorship, and live performance opportunities, ASI creates meaningful pathways for emerging talent. Whether a student is just beginning their journey or preparing for a professional career, ASI is committed to nurturing their growth — musically, personally, and creatively.
ASI Musical Instrument Donations
Every young musician deserves the tools to grow. Through our Instrument Donation Program, ASI collects, restores, and distributes quality instruments to students who need them most. We partner with schools, music programs, and community organizations to ensure instruments find their way into the hands of passionate, underserved youth. An instrument can change a life — and we make that possible.
Private Lesson Scholarships
Personalized instruction can be a game-changer for a young musician. ASI offers private lesson scholarships to students who show promise, passion, and dedication but lack access to one-on-one training. By pairing them with skilled instructors, we help unlock their full potential and build the confidence to grow both musically and personally.
College Track
Through our partnership with College Track, ASI has developed a program in Watts that has enriched their students’ understanding and appreciation of music and the music industry.
Intergenerational Music Program
Music bridges generations, creating space for shared learning, storytelling, and connection. ASI’s Intergenerational Music Program brings young musicians together with seasoned artists, educators, and elders in the community to collaborate, create, and grow. Through dialogue, mentorship, and ensemble work, we preserve musical legacies while nurturing the next generation of voices.
Bring Arturo to School Program
Bring Arturo to School is a monthly program where legendary musician Arturo Sandoval virtually visits classrooms across the country. These schools are selected for the way they bring the spirit of music to life — through collaboration, creativity, and kindness. Students get the rare opportunity to connect with Arturo directly, ask questions, and be inspired by his journey and passion.
Notre Dame – ASI Scholarships
In partnership with the University of Notre Dame, ASI proudly offers scholarships to exceptional young musicians who demonstrate both talent and heart. These scholarships provide access to immersive music education experiences, mentorship, and community-building opportunities on one of the nation’s most prestigious campuses. It’s a powerful step toward shaping future leaders in music and beyond.
